Mediasi Aktif Dalam Pengasuhan Digital Ke Atas Perkembangan Kanak-kanak
Active Mediation in Digital Parenting on Children Development
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This paper discusses the importance of active mediation of digital parenting on children development. Active mediation is communication of conversation or conversation between two parties which is parents and children respond to the information presented. Parents communicate because they want to dominate children understanding, the attitude, behaviour and actions whether they devise or not on an issue. In addition, there is no denying that active mediation is one of the most important forms of parental practice because it can influence the behavior, attitudes, and thoughts of a child using digital devices. Without realizing it, active mediation is a complement to the digital upbringing of parents who raise their children using digital devices, where the development of digital technology including the rapid use of digital devices nowadays has impact on parenting methods. Furthermore, the development of children as early as six month of age such as cognitive, social and physical is related to the effectiveness of active mediation practices on digital parenting provided by parents. Previous studies have discussed active mediation in term of behavior, attitudes but the focus of discussion only revolves around primary school and adolescent and there are few studies on children as young as six months to five years old. Therefore, active mediation in digital parenting gives more emphasis because it is very important for parents in ensuring that children as young as six months old to understand the importance of communication to discipline them while using digital devices.
