Kaedah Pembelajaran Sejarah Berasaskan Lawatan Ke Muzium
History Learning Method Based on Museum Visits
Abstract
Effective teaching and learning methods will be able to attract students to learn history. Studying history has a variety of benefits that can be applied to students. Through visits to the museum students’ understanding and interest in History can be improved. This study employed a questionnaire instrument which consists of three components, which are respondents’ demographics, students’ attitudes towards history subjects and students' interest in making museum visits a part of historical learning. A total of 44 form Four students from the science stream in one of the secondary schools in Sarawak were selected for this study. The findings show that students' attitudes towards history and students’ interest in making museum visits are moderate and high. There is a significant relationship between the level of student attitudes and the students’ interest in visiting the museum. Hence, more detailed and comprehensive studies need to be conducted to ensure that all students have high motivation and interest in history subjects.
Abstrak
Kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang berkesan akan dapat menarik minat pelajar terhadap pembelajaran Sejarah. Mempelajari sejarah mempunyai pelbagai kepentingan yang dapat diterapkan dalam diri pelajar . Melalui lawatan ke muzium pemahaman dan minat pelajar terhadap sejarah akan dapat ditingkatkan. Kajian ini menggunakan instrumen soal selidik yang merangkumi tiga komponen iaitu demografi responden, tahap sikap pelajar terhadap mata pelajaran Sejarah dan minat pelajar dalam membuat lawatan ke muzium bagi pembelajaran sejarah. Seramai 44 orang pelajar tingkatan Empat daripada aliran sains di salah sebuah sekolah menengah di Sarawak telah dijadikan sampel kajian. Dapatan mendapati tahap sikap pelajar terhadap sejarah dan minat pelajar dalam membuat lawatan ke muzium adalah sederhana dan tinggi. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tahap sikap pelajar dengan minat pelajar dalam membuat lawatan ke muzium. Justeru, kajian terperinci dan komprehensif perlu dilakukan bagi memastikan semua pelajar mempunyai motivasi yang tinggi dan meminati mata pelajaran Sejarah.
