Teaching of Wrting Skills based on Error Analysis In Arabic Language Syntax: A case of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Students
Abstract
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji persepsi model kemahiran bertulis dalam kalangan pelajar Bahasa Arab Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Kajian ini juga penting untuk menilai keberkesanan strategi pelajar dalam kemahiran bertulis Bahasa Arab beteraskan kaedah analisis kesalahan bahasa. Bagi mengumpulkan data, kajian ini menggunakan kaedah lapangan analisa kuantitatif yang menggunakan instrumen borang soal selidik. Ia diedarkan kepada 20 orang guru dan pensyarah bahasa Arab di universiti ini sebagai responden kajian. Antara hasil dapatan kajian ialah 70% responden amat bersetuju bahawa kesalahan Sorof (morfologikal) menyumbang kepada kelemahan pelajar dalam kemahiran bertulis. Lebih 60% responden amat bersetuju sebab berlakunya kesilapan ialah kurang membaca buku dan rujukan bahasa Arab, dan tidak mahir dengan kaedah Nahu dan Sorof. Sebanyak 45%-50% responden pula amat bersetuju bahawa penterjemahan langsung daripada bahasa ibunda ke bahasa Arab mungkin memberi kesan dalam memperbaiki kesalahan bahasa dalam penulisan pelajar. Akhir sekali, beberapa cadangan penambahbaikan dikemukakan untuk kemahiran bertulis ini di akhir kajian.
ABSTRACT
The research aims to study the perception on writing skill model among the Arabic Students in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. It’s also important to evaluate the effectiveness of students’ strategies in Arabic wiriting based on langauge error analysis method. For data collection, it uses a set of questionnaire. It has been distributed to 20 Arabic USIM teachers and lecturers as respondents of the research. The results show that 70% of the respondents agreed that the Sorof (morphological) errors contribute to the weakness of Arabic writing skills among them. More than 60% repsondents strongly agreed that other problem is lackness of reading Arabic books and references, besides poor understanding of Nahu and Sorof knowledge. About 45% to 50% respondents strongly agreed that direct translation from the mother tongue to Arabic may affect in improving their writing skill. Lastly, some suggestions listed at the end for the improvement of the skill.
